Applications are invited from qualified applicants for the following programmes which will be offered in the Academic Year 2026/2027 beginning in September 2026 at the Main and Mombasa Campuses.

Minimum Requirement:

Applicants must possess a Bachelor of Education degree from Kenyatta University or any other recognized institution.

DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES:

a) Early Childhood Education

Campuses: Main and Mombasa campuses

Minimum requirements:

(i) Mean grade of C Plain in KCSE OR Division 3 at KCE.

(ii) Mean grade of C- (Minus) in KCSE OR its equivalent, plus a P1 Certificate/ ECE Certificate from a recognized institution.

Course Duration: 2 years

DEGREE PROGRAMMES:

a) Bachelor of Education (Arts)

Campuses: Main and Mombasa

Minimum requirements:

(i) Mean grade C+ (Plus) at KCSE or its equivalent with at least C+ (Plus) in two subjects of career choice OR

(ii) Mean grade C (Plain) or its equivalent at KCSE or Division III at KCE or one (1) Principal and one (1) Subsidiary at KACE, with an S1 or P1 Certificate and a Diploma in Education from a recognized institution, with at least C+ (Plus) in two subjects of career choice and have at least two (2) years of teaching experience.

Course Duration: 4 years

b) Bachelor of Education (Science)

Campuses: Main and Mombasa

Minimum requirements:

Mean grade of C+ (Plus) at KCSE or its equivalent with at least C+ (Plus) in two subjects of choice and C (plain) in Mathematics OR Mean grade of C (Plain) or its equivalent at KCSE or Div. III at KCE, with an S1 or P1 Certificate and a Diploma in Education, and a C (Plain) in Mathematics at KCSE, with at least C+ (Plus) in two subjects of career choice, and at least two (2) years of teaching experience

Course Duration: 4 years

c) Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education)

Campus: Main

Minimum requirements:

i) Mean grade of C+ (Plus) at KCSE examination or its equivalent.

ii) Mean grade of C (Plain) at KCSE examination or its equivalent with a Diploma in ECE with TSC registration.

iii) Mean grade of C-(minus) at KCSE examination or its equivalent having a Certificate and a Diploma in ECE with TSC registration.

Course Duration: 4 years

d) Bachelor of Education (Home Economics)

Campus: Main

Minimum requirement:

Any of the following:

i) Mean grade of C+ (Plus) at KCSE or equivalent and at least C+ (Plus) in Home Science or Biology and any other science subject of choice and a C (Plain) in Mathematics OR.

ii) A mean grade of C (plain) at KCSE or its equivalent with a diploma from Kenyatta University or any other recognized /accredited institution. In addition, the applicant must have attained at least C+ (Plus) in Home Science or Biology and any other science subject of choice, a C (Plain) in Mathematics and have at least two (2) years of teaching experience.

Course Duration: 4 years

e) Bachelor of Education (Physical Education and Sports)

Campus: Main

Minimum requirements

i) Mean grade of C+ (Plus) at KCSE or its equivalent, with C+ (Plus) and above in the teaching subject of choice to be combined with Physical Education. In addition, a candidate must have a minimum grade of C (in KCSE or its equivalent) in at least one science subject or Mathematics.

ii) A mean grade of C (plain) in KCSE or its equivalent with a Diploma in Physical Education or any other related field from a recognized institution with C+ (Plus) and above in the teaching subject of choice to be combined with Physical Education. In addition, a candidate must have a minimum grade of C (in KCSE or its equivalent) in at least one science subject or Mathematics and have at least two (2) years of experience.

f) Bachelor of Education (Special Needs Education)

Campus: Main and Mombasa Campuses

Minimum requirements

Mean grade of C+ (plus) at KCSE or equivalent with at least C+ (plus) in two teaching subjects OR

Mean grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or Division III at KCE or equivalent or one (1) Principal and one (1) Subsidiary at KACE and be holders of P1 or S1, with a Diploma in Education or Special Needs Education from a recognized Institution with at least C+ (plus) in two teaching subjects and have at least two (2) years teaching experience OR

Mean Grade of C- (Minus) at KCSE and progressed from Certificate to Diploma at Kenyatta University or any other recognized/accredited institutions with at least C+ (plus) in two teaching subjects and have at least two (2) years teaching experience.

g) Bachelor of Education (Primary Teacher Education)

Campuses: Main,

Minimum requirements

Mean grade of C+ (Plus) at KCSE or its equivalent and C+ (Plus) in two teaching subjects of specialization. OR

P1, S1 or its equivalent with at least two (2) years’ experience as Primary School Teacher, Inspector, Education Officer, Curriculum Developer or other Primary Education field staff. Must have attained C (Plain) mean grade at KCSE or equivalent and C+ (Plus) in two teaching subjects of specialization OR

Mean grade of C (Plain) at KCSE examination or its equivalent with a Diploma in Education from a recognized institution with C+ (Plus) in two teaching subjects of specialization and have at least two (2) years of teaching experience.

Course Duration: 4 years

h) Bachelor of Education (Library Science)

Main Campus

Minimum requirements

Mean grade of C+ (Plus) at KCSE or its equivalent, with C + (Plus) in two teaching subjects OR

Mean grade of C (Plain) or its equivalent with at least C+ (Plus) in two teaching subjects at KCSE or its equivalent with a Diploma in Library Science or Diploma in Information Science or Diploma in Archives Administration or any other related field from a recognized institution and have at least two (2) years of experience.
